Proprio in questa data grazie al caldo sole dei primi giorni di ottobre ho deciso di andarla a vedere, è stata presentata in anteprima europea, presso il Chiostro del Bramante (spettacolare) la mostra chiamata Essenza del cuoio; un viaggio emozionante nel cuore della maison, alla scoperta dell'elemento che dal 1837 è legato in modo indissolubile a Hermès: la pelle, il cuoio.

Per Hermès, da sempre, il cuoio è più di una materia. Un universo, un linguaggio che sollecita i cinque sensi e li ispira. I visitatori scoprono l’incontro magico tra Hermès e il cuoio grazie a una mise en scène firmata dall’architetto-scenografa Alexandra Plat: ogni ambiente prenderà la forma di uno scrigno sorprendente, dalla biblioteca delle pelli all’atelier dell’artigiano, dalla sala dedicata alle celebri chiusure delle borse fino agli ordini speciali. Accanto ai prodotti-icona di Hermès, abbelliti dalla patina del tempo, saranno esposte le creazioni contemporanee.

“Posando le mani sulle pelli più belle - scelte, tagliate, cucite e levigate con cura - sei generazioni di artigiani hanno appreso, e poi trasmesso, i valori dai quali la nostra impresa trae il suo slancio: l’attaccamento alla qualità, la ricerca della perfezione celata nel minimo dettaglio, il rispetto del tempo uniti al gusto creativo”, spiega Pierre-Alexis Dumas, direttore artistico di Hermès e membro della sesta generazione della famiglia Hermès.Essenza del cuoio si snoderà attraverso diversi ambienti dal forte impatto visivo utilizzando supporti artistici e video interattivi, ispirandosi a elementi iconici come la “boite orange”, il mitico imballaggio color arancione della maison.

Un gioco di suoni, immagini e luci valorizzerà la bellezza degli oggetti esposti, dall’universo della Kelly e della Birkin alle borse da viaggio, fino al mondo dell'equitazione.

Essence of the leather will take you through different environments by usingstrong visual artistic media and interactive video, inspired by iconic elementslike the "boite orange", the mythical orange packing the house.

A game of sounds, images and lights will enhance the beauty of the exhibits, the universe of
Kelly and Birkin bags to travel to the equestrian world.
